June Featured Challenge

Attention on the concourse: the June “Featured Challenge” is now boarding

What’s different about a “featured” challenge, you ask? It’s simple. There’s potentially a little something in it for you! Starting today, Thursday, June 2, and going for 4 weeks, you can join the June COMMUTE IN YOUR PANTS challenge and be eligible to win some great prizes from CLIF Bar!

Prizes will be awarded to the top 50 point earners in THIS FEATURED CHALLENGE ONLY. You earn points by 1) logging those bike trips and 2) completing the suggested trip limit each week (at least 2 trips, but you can absolutely do more). Featured Challenges are designed to reward the persistent 2 Miler: the more car trips avoided to fight climate change by bike, the more chances you have to win a little something … you know, for the effort!

Prize tiers for June:

  • 1st-3rd: 2MC Messenger Bag filled with CLIF Bars + Commuter Kit + Limited Edition 2MC Cycling Cap
  • 4-10th: Commuter Kit + Box of CLIF Bars + Cycling Cap
  • 11-25th: Cycling Cap + 6 CLIF Bars (including one *new* Coconut Chocolate Chip flavor*)
  • 26-50th: Team Keychain + *new* Coconut Chocolate Chip CLIF Bar*

There will also be some other surprise prizes awarded throughout this month’s featured challenge: CLIF Bars, limited edition merch, and even a $1000 grant opportunity, where  YOU will direct the bicycle or climate change nonprofit recipient doing the good work in your community!

Enjoy the ride!

My New Profile Picture is Not!! intended to offend but to remind me Not to Give Up!!! My Oldest & Dearest Friend sent that to me a Few years ago to Remind me that I’m the “Rebel Girl” And a Fighter.  I had to deal with my Share of Bullies and all that kind of B.S. all through out school and I Never backed Down!! Always Stood up for myself..

Did get my walk in 2 miles. No Bike Ride a Flat Tire!! can’t get it fixed till the weekend when I can get it to Bike shop.. My Disability keeps me from being able to fix things like this because I only have full use of 1 hand and very little use of the other.

Late to the game, but up for the challenge anyway. Hoping East coast weather will cooperate.

Its hot and humid here in Charleston SC. My 15 mile commute to work is not so bad, but the trip back home at 4:00 pm is brutal. I drink water constantly to keep the monkey of my back. We are currently having a record heat wave. When I get home I have to let the shower run awhile until the water is cool enough for me.

Got caught in a thunder storm on my return trip home yesterday. The cool rain was nice but the lightning scared the crap out of me. Storm didn’t last long. Hopefully will get some more rain today.

    Noblesse Oblige
“I Believe that there is nobility in all of us. Perhaps the greatest manifestation of that nobility is the attempt to do the right thing. That attempt needs to be cherished and encouraged. It’s important on a daily basis to leave things a litte better than you find them. Anthony DeLongis
