One wild road trip

www.2MileChallenge.com

The 2 Mile Challenge has given me the opportunity to see and do some of the most amazing things over the past two months.

We have seen it all from the bright lights of Vegas to the fishmongers in Pike Place market in Seattle and everything in between. In the same week I found myself riding my bike down Santa Monica Boulevard to meet up with friends in Beverly Hills for a night out on the Sunset Strip, a couple of days later we were riding through the Sierra Nevada with Kipchoge and The Ginger Ninjas. Amazing, the places a bike can take you (with a little help of our bio-fueled Bus!).

Accommodating all the different tastes of my fellow tour mates when we stop for food always seems to prove interesting: I have eaten everything from sesame tofu from a co-op in Moscow, ID to chicken fried steak at a truck stop in Nevada. I even had a steak from Ketchup in L.A., and sushi in Salt Lake City (is that backwards?!)… the list goes on.

Looking back on the trip, who would have ever thought that this crew, this program, this company and this worthy initiative (that would be spreading the love for bikes, duh) could come this far? I can’t believe the tour is over. I look back and remember the shows in Vegas, driving through the Redwoods in California, and also catching a 30 pound king salmon at the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle (video soon to follow!). Somehow, Cris and I even ended up on the field after the Oregon vs. ASU football game last Saturday (don’t ask…).

Without a doubt the most memorable part of our journey was meeting people from all walks of life that I really enjoyed getting to know. This has been an unbelievable seven weeks that I’m not soon to forget.

Signing off,
-Zac
